Mr. Alston has more than 30 years of capital raising experience across all major real estate asset sectors encompassing a variety of strategies, structures, and platforms including advisory, private equity, operator, fiduciary, and lending.  Prior to joining Medalist Capital, he was Managing Director of Capital Markets for Brennan Investment Group, an owner-operator of industrial real estate.  Mr. Alston previously worked in New York for Threadmark, a global advisory firm raising capital for real estate, infrastructure, credit, and private equity mandates.  Platform experience also includes a senior capital raising position with Bentall Kennedy Sun Life, serving as a Principal of Fifield Companies, an owner-operator of apartments, and a Partner with Capri Capital, a real estate private equity firm.  Mr. Alston began his career in Chicago at The Northern Trust Company, a global investment management and banking institution. 

Mr. Alston earned a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University in international business, and a master’s degree in finance from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University.  He is a member of Kenilworth Union Church. Mr. Alston is married and has three children.
