Mr. Nelson brings more than 30 years of institutional fixed income, business development, management, and investment sales experience to Medalist Capital.  Prior to joining Medalist, he specialized in investment sales at Marcus & Millichap advising clients on the acquisition and disposition of commercial property.  Prior to that, he spent almost 25 years in the global financial markets in New York, London, Tokyo, and Charlotte working for Salomon Brothers, Credit Suisse, and Bank of America covering some of the largest institutional investors in the world.  His educational background in both Industrial Engineering and Law brings a unique problem-solving and analytical approach to real estate finance.

Outside of work Mr. Nelson remains actively involved in the community.  He is on the Advisory Board of the USO Charlotte Center, and past board memberships include Patriot Charities and Neighbors for a Safer Charlotte.  He is a licensed real estate broker in NC and SC, a licensed General Contractor in NC, and a licensed attorney in NY.  His hobbies include physical fitness, reading, and geopolitics.  He is married and has three children.
