Mr. Wilson has more than 16 years of experience in the industry. Before forming Medalist Capital, Mr. Wilson was a vice president with Capital Advisors from 1999 to 2004. He was an attorney with Sinkler & Boyd, P.A. in Charleston, where he served as associate from 1989 until 1994 and partner from 1995 until 1999. His practice areas were real estate and corporate finance.
Mr. Wilson is a member of the board of directors of AAA of the Carolinas, a former member of the board of trustees at Episcopal High School and Charleston Day School and was a founding member of the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry. His hobbies include golf, tennis and boating.
J. Walker Layne Jr., Vice President

Mr. Layne brings to Medalist over 10 years of fixed income and equity experience in the financial services industry. Most recently, he spent five years with the Prime Financing group of Credit Suisse in New York, where he was responsible for financing hedge fund portfolios and executing leveraged swap transactions across various equity products. Before that, Mr. Layne worked in the Mortgage Banking Risk Management group at Vining Sparks IBG in Charlotte, North Carolina, from 2003 to 2008. Following his undergraduate degree, he spent two and a half years playing professional golf throughout North, Central and South America.
While in New York, Mr. Layne served as a mentor to underprivileged youth through the Henry Street Settlement and was an active participant with Habitat for Humanity in the Greater New York metro area.
Mary Neill McKie, Vice President

Mary Neill joined Medalist Capital in the spring of 2006 as an analyst. Before joining Medalist, she was an intern with Pratt-Thomas & Gumb (now Dixon Hughes, PLLC), a certified public accounting firm in Charleston. She received a BS in psychology from Furman University, where she was a scholarship member of the women’s tennis team and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Mary Neill is a member of the Furman Paladin Club, the Colonial Dames of America, a former member of the Porter-Gaud Alumni Association Board, a former member of the Porter-Gaud Hall of Fame Committee, and a regular volunteer with Reading Partners.
Tanya L. Greene, Loan Closing Specialist
Ms. Greene joined Medalist Capital in 2004 as the loan closing specialist. With more than 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, she has facilitated loan closings with various life insurance companies and conduits. She also assists the servicing department with UCC filings and insurance renewals. Before joining Medalist Capital, she worked with Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. as a senior paralegal.
Ms. Greene is involved with her community association, currently serving on the Architectural Review Committee and is Secretary of her HOA. She enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
